For Diabetics

Diabetics in the NFB are not alone!

We want you to know that you are not alone. Nearly a quarter century ago, the NFB, the nation's largest organization of blind people, established the NFB Diabetes Action Network (NFB DAN). Today there are thousands of NFB DAN members around the nation supporting one another and working together to improve the lives of all blind people.

What is NFB-DAN's Mission?

The NFB Diabetes Action Network educates, empowers, and inspires people living with diabetes and its complications. We share the Federation's "can-do" philosophy, through Voice of the Diabetic magazine, volunteer peer support, and advocacy for accessible diabetes technology. Together, we challenge one another to live our best and fullest lives.

How DAN Works

Together, we educate, inspire, and empower individuals and their families as they learn to manage the complications of diabetes. Our Diabetes Action Network also works to educate the health care community about the abilities of blind diabetics.

Why Should I join?

NFB-DAN dues are only $10 per year. Members work to overcome the problems that diabetes and blindness may bring. We invite you to attend your local NFB chapter meetings where you can meet other visually impaired diabetics.

It is an exciting time to be a part of the NFB. Working together we can continue to improve the lives of all blind people.

For more information about joining DAN contact:
